Some pumps have a stright lever that works on the bottom of the cam. Others have a bent lever that works against the outside of the cam. Bent is more common? And, if tightend down with the lever in front or behind it's cam lobe, you can break things when tightening. Get it in straight, then tighten both bolts evenly, so it won't get cocked so far as to jump off the lobe.
I've seem plastic spacers used on some engines, but I don't recall if Dodges or others.
Looks around the flanges of the pumps for some numbers, 4-6 digits, stamped. And post, with which engine.
