exhaust is its own world of little issues. were they leaking? sometims best to leave it alone if not. you can dril the heads off the bolts. easy if front clip is off. the intake and exhaust manifold never rust together. there are four bolts that hold them together. they will always break without heat and even then they usually do. Since it is a matched pair you shoudl NOT have to have them machined before installation unless the surfaces on the exhaust manifold are badly worn from a long term leak. its a time consumer espoecially if you decide to take the 4 bolts out that hold them together. if you have no leak there I would blast it, paint it and run it. this design is NOT prone to leaking when compared to many other engines. quite reliable
