Carburetor
I’m working on my new 49 ffpw, would not start due to no compression in #3 and #4 , I unstuck stuck valves, still not running. Tried pull starting, nothing. Acted like it was flooded, looked in carburetor when cranking and saw fresh gas pouring in every time fuel pump pumped. PO installed Carter sediment filter in front of carb, and when he did they removed needle valve assembly. I got rebuild kit from Vintage PW and started to clean carb, soaked carb in cleaner for 2 hours for cleaning off varnish/grime. When I removed from solution I noticed rubber swelling from around ends of shaft that choke is mounted to, removed metal retaining rings and found a seal like a grease seal all swelled up and ruined, but seal did not come in kit, any suggestions?
