I've called a couple shops in the area-have been told by all " need to see and disassm the gen to ID parts needed, parts not cheap anymore, $250+" . Everybody wants to replace armature too, not just the field coils, which I don't think is necessary. Easiest/cheapest way out for me is a functioning/repairable 12v gen. If I can't find one I'll get more info and convert the 6v one myself I guess. Hopefully Tim Holloway can hook me up.
