Tom, I think what you are going through happens to more people then will admit it , and the fact that you are venting it is a good thing.
Do you have anyone you can talk with, either family or someone professional to start the process to work your way out of your funk?
Give yourself some more time to work things out and talk with some one you can trust to start the process.
