Just a thought. Could it be the Dodge Engineers did not want Hub Centric as the hob hole would have to be a tight fit and rust issues might make wheel removal difficult. Where with Lug Centric, the tapered lug nut actually centers the wheel and the center hole is a loose fit with no rust issues ? Just a guess.
