I hear you. I got stuck with a '97 Honda Del Sol through an extremely long story, and it's an amazing difference what 33 mpg compared to 8 mpg makes on one's pocketbook. Granted, it's gasoline-powered, but filling up once a month compared to once a week has saved me at LEAST $150 a month. I was just going to fix it and flip it, but it's a really fun car to drive, so it's gonna be my daily driver until the fun runs out. There's a guy here in town with an old diesel Rabbit that he bought new. I'll bet it's got every bit of 500,000 miles on it by now, and he still drives it everywhere, every day.
