Sorry. I just retread your post. Ballast resistor is a ceramic part that has wires going into both ends. It's usually found on the drivers side fender in the engine compartment. There is usually a bolt head in the center holding it to the inner fender. Very common failure point, that's why I carry spares in all my 70's era trucks
