Funny mine was yellow too. Painted inside and out with a five gallon bucket and a broom,but it didn't rust.
Glad you kept the old iron.
I can't remember getting stopped for anything and the old engine smoked so much in those days I could kill mosquitoes for half a mile.The environment police would be on me for sure if it still smoked like that now.
I remember memorizing the Sears and JC Whitney catalogs looking at piston rings and gaskets but they were all out of my budget.
