transfer case disassembly question

folks at home, i am in the process of rebuilding my 2 speed transfer case on my 48 ffpw. Im at a loss on how to tomove the middle gear. I have just ordered a manual from vpw that goes over the power train and will possibly cover this issue, but I cant wait any longer.. Im to eager to work on it tomorrow.
After removing the middle gear covers etc, how do I push or pull the middle gear out? Any tips?
