Leave the points in it, keep a spare set in the glove box. you can keep an entire ignition system in a small shoe box, about 35.00 bux, try keeping an electronic ignition in the glove box for 35.00 bux!! besides, when that giant solar flare hits, we'll be the only ones still running!!! Dave.
