compared to installing an oil burner, a pertronix looks cheap! diesel is a good way to eliminate a lot of old gas engine issues. no ethanol or spark to contend with. for some, driving 300 miles in a summer makes a diesel conversion overkill. things like gm alternators, ray's brakes and electronic ignition help a sitting rig spring to life when needed.... my friends with gas boats are having fits with ethanol in their boat fuel. old wisdom was to top off fuel tank in winter to stop condensation. i believe the better advice for gas boat owners now is to completely drain fuel system at season's end. start with fresh fuel in the spring.
