I think it depends on how much towing and where you intend to do it. I would never have a need to tow anything on the road with my WDX, but moving stuff around my place could be handy at times. (Although I have 4 other trucks with road worthy hitches in the rear, 3 of them having a receiver in the front for pushing trailers). So, a plate that bolts to the existing four holes, as Marty suggests, with a 2" receiver tube welded to it would be plenty for my needs.
