I had cut down a large poplar tree that my father had been hitting with the snowplow for the last 5 years located at the entrance to the driveway about 300 feet from the main road. It was in rough shape, but still had green leaves this year. I cut it down and lopped it up into wood stove lengths and hauled the tops into the woods. Around lunchtime I went up to his house to get the splitter so I would only have to load it once in the truck and when I came back down the whole tree trunk up to the branches was gone! I swear I was only away for about 35-40 minutes.
At least they stole it "before" I split it. Some of those were large trunk pieces too.
