'71W100 rear axle won't backup

Coming down our road(steep) towing my chipper in 1st......clunk.....clunk.....clunk. Got to the bottom and tried to back up and..no way. Jacked up one wheel, same results(pinion gear teeth?). It's the smaller 1/2ton axle whose housing I replaced 10yrs ago. Stamped: 2070741 064Ø 26 It's my beloved work truck, and I'm up the creek as it tows my chipper. Can't get it home as it won't back up......any advice sincerely appreciated. Are parts even available? New replacement Axles? Thanks for any suggestions, Sincerely Tracy
