It might be worth simply talking to your attorney and having him/her write a letter if they thought it had any weight.
I won't go into detail here -if you are interested contact me off site - but I got $5k owed to me a few years back only because my lawyer sent a letter and knew what the law was.
I doubt the screw maker would want to go to small claims court in a rural Idaho area with the locals as the jury.
That is, of course, if the fine print does not give them an out on this already.
