Dodge sold the flat fender 1 ton as a W300 in 1957 The standard cab trucks were only built in W100 (1/2 ton) and W200 (3/4 ton).

In 1958 Dodge started to make the standard cab 1 ton, and called it the W300, this made for two trucks with the same name, so that is when the flat fender became W300M.
