Where can weight figures for diesel engs. be found?

If one were to swap in a diesel,it would seem reasonable to try and stay within the weight range of the 251L-head.I realize a 4cyl is probibly sufficient,but is there a small 6cyl diesel that might work without being too heavy ? Is there a small 6cyl diesel that purhaps was used in cars ?
