That's because the Cherokee was one of the of the first tribes to interact with the usurping Europeans on a peaceful basis (after getting their asses kicked) and one of the most civilized tribes, having a written language, permanent and well established communities and government systems which spanned a large geographical area. Accordingly, they were readily assimilated into "civilized" society. Didn't they teach you anything in skool? (hehheh), BTW, I also know some Cheyenne and Chumash mixes, so there!! c)º:
