Some people may wonder, only one so far, why I put a question about Chevy on a Dodge forum! I have done mechanic work for over 43 years. I don't know it all but I feel I know more than most! If you drive a Dodge you know you are on the defensive. If you really want to defend Dodge, just ask your opponent to make a list of all Dodge BLUNDERS and see what they know. A few of G.M. blunders are : 265-283-327 engines-bursted pistons, pulled rocker studs, cam shaft wear. Aluminum V-8 in the 60's, Roto-hydro model 5 & 10, torque converter made inside this transmission, turbo-glide transmission, Pontiac Tempest-engine in front, transaxel in rear, overhead cam Tempest 6 cy. engine, Vega, Corvair, Fiero Pontiac, plastic timing gear in Pontiac, gas engine conversion to diesel, aluminum Buick special transmission (one bolt holds the oil pan). Chevy engines in Buick or Olds, Chevy trucks-duel exposed gas tanks. What about Citation-record holding recalls. I could fill this web page. I realize these are old blunders but HISTORY IS HISTORY. I have, long ago, come to the conclusion that G.M. is an experimental company that lets people find their problems. That's why I drive Chrysler.

The first V8 made by Chevrolet was a 90 degree, valve in head, design. It was built in 1917. It also had the spark plugs on the intake manifold, on top of the engine. They had numerous problems such as oil leaks, failed pistons and cranks! For more information go to www.chevytalk.com and click on First Fifty Years. BE CAREFUL YOUR ON DANGEROUS GROUND --- GILES
