From what I know they went to W300M in 1957 when they came out with the other Powerwagon (W series)since they both had W300 designations ( W series also came in 1/2 &3/4ton ) Dodge added M to the WDX style PW which stood for "M"ilitary sheet metal ( Heavy gauge ). W300M was kept till 1961 When WDX style PW's came out equipt with 251 engines ( Detroit dropped the 230 that year in leiu of the new slant six) so 1961 was first year for the WM300 which was the last designation (model code) change for that truck ( WDX style ). But heck what do I know?, I've been wrong before lol.
