Needed my winch on my M37 on a recent trail ride and the drum would release and unspool everytime the cable was loaded up. Finally got out by applying some pressure to the winch clutchwhile the cable wound in. The drum had some side play so yesterday I adjusted the width by tightening the tie bolt on the bottom of the winch. Today while pulling some shrubs for my wife it did it again although at a much higher tension. Adjusted the width a little more and it still did it. Anyone have an idea on what could slip here? Is it time for a new clutch? I won't have time to disassemble for a couple weeks but I would like some advice before I get in there.
