I grabbed my copy of Fed Crimson's "U.S.Military Wheeled Vehicles" book and I believe this is a 1.5 ton from the QM Corps era ( mid 1930's)before the VF truck. If you have this book check out pg. 257.
I find the era between the wars most fascinating regard the evolution of military trucks. many were "assembled" trucks from off the shelf components int a variety of configurations (4x4 and 6x6) with such classic styling. Not many if any survive and I never see any of these trucks at meets or discussed in the MV magazines.
