there was a jag of inferior imported coils. they caused all sorts of problems. find a good replacement coil or a known good us used one. the kit i found for my dodge was from ab linn, and all the parts were marked ford. no matter, it all worked. you may also take the time to rebuild your distributor as they wear and start to cause problems too.
