I have for sale a restored 1951 M37 painted red. This truck was owned by a township from 1966 - 2000, driven regularly and was very well maintained. I purchased this truck in 2000. Mechanically, it is all still original 1951, but I chose not to repaint the truck green. It has a 230 cid Dodge engine, that has been rebuilt, but I don’t know when. It had a new head installed by the town, along with new brakes, drums, and wheel cylinders before I bought it. When I purchased the vehicle I changed all fluids, and had the gas tank repaired and resealed.

The electrical is 24 V, and I installed a new complete correct reproduction wire harness. Everything works and the truck runs and drives great. Well everything but the damn gas gauge. I put a new sending unit in when I did the tank work, it worked for a bit but then nothing. I don’t use much more that a tank of gas a year so I just never bothered to try and fix it again. There is an access panel in the bed to get at the sending unit so you don’t have to drop the tank to fool with it.

I removed the front end and bed, sand blasted and painted the frame, ground all of the sheet metal to bare metal, and had a body shop paint the exterior cardinal red. Cab interior and bed are painted black. I have boxes of extra parts, such as all new window glass crank mechanisms, seals, tune up parts, replacement bulbs, two new Jeep heater kits that I never got around to installing. Since I don’t drive it in cold weather, it never got very far up my list.

Following is a list of the work I have done

New Douglas style waterproof wire harness
New Military tires
New bed floor, the old one was rotted from the town hauling fertilizer to parks There was no other rust damage to any sheet metal
24v to 12v converter added to run a am/fm CD radio
Warn locking hubs
Seat belts (I took my kids to school with this truck, no go without the belts. 3 total)
Exterior bolts I had to remove to reinstall fenders or sheet metal were replaced with stainless, I have the original bolts.
All of the silver parts on the exterior, handles, trim rings, lug nuts were powder coated silver
New troop seats with oak boards
New exhaust pipe
All window glass was replaced with new safety glass.
Running boards, cab floor and bed are coated with bed liner
2 new 12v batteries
Asking $12,000.00
