Sure, when I see a good powder-coat job, I'll believe it's a good technique. If all you see are the crap jobs, what else can a person think? I have never seen even brushed-on rustoleum or rattle-can krylon peel off in big sheets the way a lot of powder coat does.
I'm willing to believe that there's a way to do it right and that it can be just as good as solvent paint, but when even the big-time mass production manufacturers turn out lousy coating jobs, I can only think that doing it right is either too tricky or too expensive.
