price of a driveshaft??

I am putting together this 1958 D100.... it was missing some parts.. I am down to the driveshaft.....have some pieces the yokes etc.. but the shaft i have is 3 inches too long.. SOOOO, went down to the local NAPA who cuts and fixes driveshafts.. they say that they cany fix this or balance it.. they want $450 for a new one... is that out of line??
