Stick one end in your ear (Q tip safety cautions apply) and poke the other end around suspected leaks. Around the carb base and intake/block interface.

Or spray carb cleaner or spray oily/wd40/ etc and listen for change to engine speed as the 'fuel' is added.

The only vacuum on the left side is the advance diaphragm at the dist. Wiper port is the big one on the intake manifold.

You sure it's not a loose generator belt?
