I always enjoy your stories. You paint a good picture. Ticks are out here too. We finally had a couple hot days and the brush is starting to leaf out on the hillsides. That's where the elk hang out, so that's where the ticks are. I've gotten 2 on me, but I don't know why my new dog doesn't seem to have gotten any. Could a dog be immune to ticks? My old dog got 100 once at one camp in the Columbia Gorge this time of year.
As for the full auto boys, maybe they had one of those "slide fire" stocks or a trigger crank, both of which are legal. Bet they had some explaining to do anyway. Last Cheaper than Dirt catalog had .223 ammo in stock and ready to ship for "only" $399 for 300 rounds. Full auto gets pretty expensive at that price.
