The V series Dodge trucks were all produced for the 1940 model year. The T series trucks were 1939. The W series were 1941 and up through 1949.
I have a VD-15 (3/4 ton), a VD-20 (1 ton with 8' box) and a VD-21 (1 tone with 9' box), plus some VC parts (1/2 ton).
Gordon MacMillan bought a TD-20 from a person about 100 miles from here. That is a 1939 1 ton with 8' box.
