Wow,you guys out west are lucky. Here in Ohio that would be a great find. I had to buy a frame to have a starting place for my project, and I have three parts trucks. None of them are as complete as that truck. If more trucks had survived things would be better.
Here in the Ohio valley the steel mills ran day and night and consumed a steady diet of scrap metal. There are still two mills within a 40 minuet drive of my house. Four very active scrap yards within a 1/2 hour drive and several others that are more recyclers. They only keep up to date stuff. With hundreds of wrecks parked in rows by brand there's nothing older than the 80s. Last year I bought a set of ff axels from the scrap yard. They had to unstack some smashed cars to get down to the truck. When I go to the monthly farm equipment auction I have to out bid the scrap guys to buy any thing. This month I bought a Ramsey winch missing some parts. The scrap guys just saw a pile of aluminum so I got it. I may have gotten a winch cheap or some good aluminum for my son to melt and cast with.
OH! I'm droning on and on, sorry. Jim
