We heard a guy coming in once. From the noise we knew his Chevy had a bad fuel pump as he turned off the street. Seems the tune up shop down the street didn't do engines, so sent him to us.
Chevy fuel pumps and flex plates both sound like rod knocks. With experience we got to be able to diagnose at a distance.
@o years later my neighbor wouldn't sell me his wagon, said it needed an engine. Dummy traded it in for $100. Flex plate.
Another neighbor has a crate motor in his garage. Didn't put it in once I told him about flex plates. He bought TWO flex plates, he owns 5 Chevys.
