The problem we had with the original was the buttons themselves. They are Lucite I believe and were very brittle. The faces where worn off or chipped. Jerry the owner found a complete pod that had good buttons. As far as working a push button shifter there aren't any problem with them. The inner workings of the shifter pod itself is rather interesting. So are you wanting to convert to an automatic or replacing one?
