Was it a Wisconsin engine Like a VH4D or a W1770? How many teeth do our PW starters have?
Wisconsin starters have a similar bolt pattern but come with either 9,10, or 11 teeth on the bendix.
Chances are if you have an old school type electric motor guy in town he can tell you which applications interchange.
