Of course you need to be sure that the parts you use are of good quality. I use Wagner wheel cylinders & by them locally. I've used VPW's before & never had an issue but the shop I use here has old stock Wagner parts & that's my preference.
The only wheel cylinder I'll reuse is a sleeved one. I just won't risk screwing around honing out old cylinders.
I believe properly sleeved wheel cylinders are far superior to new ones & so whenever I have spares, I send them out.
The only down side to sleeving is it takes a while to get them back in your hands.
Same with brake hoses...I just have a local hydraulic store make them up. Better quality & the extra price is minimal. Same with lining...find a shop you trust. Lots of small shops doing great work still out there.
