BINGO! Jay's got it... after working on my brakes and rebuilding the cylinders and replacing the master and all steel lines, my brakes were STILL like standing on a rock! It was the little rubber hose connections, they swell inside and restrict (or cut off) the flow of the brake fluid. Probably the cheapest thing to replace but I didn't think about the age of the truck and didn't get those replace 'til the very end.
