I still the the logic of the angle in the study that supports the article is superior. Andif you dont think GM and Chrysler shoudl have been given loans and wont buy them because of it then you in theory cannot buy any asian or Europena vehicles as the governments there ahve been subsidizing there auto industries since the beginning. and they protect their markets with massive import tariffs. our only import tariffs on Japanese cars is 2.5% on cars and 25% on pick ups. that is the ONLY reason toyota makes anything here. and now the tariffs we have in place are going to be removed. go to Japan or Europe and try to import a buick. the costs are so ridiculous no one ever does. GM sells 2.5 million cars in china and around 7000 are made here. the reason is the the double digit import tax. there is no free market. its one way. not to our advantage.
