The gmc v-6 is a great engine but is a gas hog as everyone said. I wanted to do this to my 56 PW put did not have the time/balls. You can't beat the low end torque these motors have, they will run for ever also. you just can't beat the gallons per minute of cooling flow or oil pressure flow. My 69 has a constant 45# at idle and 75 @ 2800. Not bad for an original 44 yr old engine.
