Has anyone sucessfully put a GMC V6 (305) in a WDX?

My neighbor has a mid 60's GMC farm truck that is all but rotted away. But... it has a very nice running V6 and a SM420 transmission, hanging pedals and hydraulic bellhousing. It could be had for a couple of hundred bucks I'm sure. Thinking of pulling the motor trans etc and scrapping the rest of the truck ant the metal recyclers.
I have kind of a beater PW that needs a engine.
