The physical act of putting one in the truck isn't too bad, I have a welder but I'm not a fabricator. It is however a skill I'm working on. So like your friend for the critical stuff early on I mocked it up and then took it to a local welding shop.

The big issue is that with the 4BT getting the engine in is usually just the tip of the iceburg. The subsequent modifications to the rest of the truck to support the new engine range from mild to wild and drastically raise the difficulty level.

I don't want to scare anyone away, if I can figure it out anyone can, but it's far and away one of the most time consuming and difficult projects I've ever done, and I want people to go in with their eyes open. This is not something you'll see on a Power Block show on Spike where they get a bunch of parts and bolt together something cool in a few days/weeks. Even with Ray's kits a lot of this is 1-off work.
