I will give you my humble opinion about shipping vehicles. I have shipped perhaps 25 of them in my life, and they ranged in size from a sports car to a 5-ton military truck. The distances were generally substantial (over 1000 miles) each time.
My experience: (your mileage may vary)
If you are not related to, or the next-door neighbor of, the driver, you must be on guard the whole time to avoid "disappointment".
I have had several excellent experiences, but they were the exception.
The vehicle shipping industry is weird. A job can be bid to many people in a long line, with every person who touches the job getting a tiny piece of the action.
You will see websites that rival the Fortune 500 companies, but the principals of the business will be a couple of gypsies in a broken down shack in East Nowhere. They might sound very professional, but they will not even own a truck, and they will just farm the job out to a seemingly endless line of truckers until one guy will finally show up and do the move.
Expect delays, and expect problems, and you won't be disappointed.
