It's the relationship between the third member and the axle housing. If you can put 4.30s in a 9 5/8" third member (and I don't think you can) you only need one gasket. If the 4.30s are in a 8 3/4" third member, you have to mill 0.0625" from the axle housing mounting surface, and then use 1 gasket. Using Form-A-Gasket only gets you half way to where you need to be.
