why not register it as antique and then you do not need an inspection in the state of Texas are you driving it everyday? also plates are only 60.00 for 5 years as an antique no matter the weight you are only required to have the equipment working the truck came with standard from the factory.. all mine are registered that way it has not hampered me from driving them when I want too plus you can run an origional tag for the year of your truck.
