Site Seeing Suggestions?

I will be flying down (From Winnipeg Canada) to Dallas next week and making a road trip from Dallas thru Kansas City, Des Moines and Minneapolis back to Winnipeg.

I am hoping to pick up parts for my '49 and '71 FFPW projects as well as possibly meet some PW owners and their trucks to see what these trucks are suppose to looks like when fully assembled. :)
So if anyone is in these areas and would like to show off their Power Wagon or have parts to sell please let me know.

Also any suggestions on touristy locations on route would also be greatly appreciated (My girlfriend would like to see a little more than Power Wagons on this trip - I can't understand why).
