like Chris said 1 is at 7 oclock. 153624 in clockwise order. rotate engine until the timing mark is esaclty on 0, see where rotor is pointing, should be pointing at number one or number six, moved distributor so 1 or 6 is alinged perfectly with the rotor. start it up. is still poppong you might have distributor in 180 degrees out. remove retaining bolt, lift dist, spin 180, drop back in, re install retaining bolt try to start again. make sure to realign the dist with the rotor wtih timing mark at 0. using the finger blow off the plug hole method is rarely accurate for me.
