I know a lot of people like to use stainless steel cable, wire core cable, and/or 1/2-inch cable on their Branden winches. The owner of the local industrial rigging company told me that 7/16-inch fiber core cable is not rated to wrap around the small diameter of the Braden MU2 winch drum even though this cable was original to our trucks. He didn't really want to sell me any 7/16 cable for my application.

I do not remember off-hand what diameter the MU2 drum is, but it is a lot larger diameter than commercial fairlead rollers. If 7/16-inch fiber core cable is technically not approved for a drum as small as what is on the Braden MU2 winch, then I can't imagine that stainless steel, wire core, and/or 1/2-inch diameter would be either - let alone being used around the small diameter fairlead rollers.

I too like the blocks with 6-8" sheaves.
