Some days the bear eats you!

I have been doing a complete resurection on my 68 Case 580CK Backhoe for the last year. Well, not quite as I was diverted onto other things for about 9 months of the last year. It was apart as far as it could be, and is now well on its way back together. I spent today installing engine accessorys etc. Came time o install the gas tank but I figured I would fill the front transmission resevoir first as it is easier without the gas tank. 4 gallons of oil later that was done. I ran out to pick up my daughter and brought her home. Went back to the shop and there is a puddle under the tractor. Not huge, maybe a cup of oil. I put a pan under it and started scratching my head. I looked in the manual and sure enough, there is a seal behind the throwout bearing tube that I missed. Major bummer. So, for a $6.00 seal, I get to seperate the engine from the bellhousing again. Oh well, I should have known it was there, now I pay my fools tax.
Tim
