I'm not exactly sure why anyone would be that opposed to that configuration. I've installed a common rail Cummins in a W500 & although I wouldn't do it again...I'd still prefer it to any other engine conversion unless it was a mechanical diesel.
The auto...I can relate to wanting a truck with an auto & you certainly can't go wrong with the Allison.
I mean everyone has there own idea & if someone wants to modify their truck...who cares?
If you're happy, I'm happy :)
That said, you're going to have many electronic hurdles :) :)
