We agree, that is the logo designed in the late 40's. It's not quite a bear, it's not quite a cat.
The main ski run was called "The Bear-cat" So all the locals agree, that that is what it is.
Pic is of the large gantry crane left at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Pocatello, Idaho. These cranes manhandled the large 16" guns off of the Iowa Class battleships.
They brought them into Idaho to reline and rifle.
