Pull the head. The gasket will tell you most of what you need to know. If it is the gasket it should be visable. Look at the tops of the piston you should see antifreeze on it. The plugs who'll show antifreeze also. Do not let the truck sit pull the head. If there is any water in one of the cylinders it will start rusting soon.
Have the head checked and milled if needed. Most head gasket failures or due to warped heads or incorrect torque on the head bolts whitch allows the head to move.
